Lymphatic Therapy Support

The lymphatic system is a network of tissues and organs that help rid the body of toxins, waste and other unwanted materials.

The functions of the lymphatic system are:

 * to transport lymph, a fluid containing infection-fighting white blood cells, throughout the body,

* to defend the body against disease,

* to absorb lipids from the intestine and transport them to the blood.

If your Lymph System were to stop working, you would die in a matter of hours!!

Western medicine tends to overlook the lymphatic system until it is symptomatic, and even then there is no recognized way of treating a dysfunctional lymphatic system other than excising problematic lymph nodes or if the physician is aware of such, may order lymphatic drainage therapy. Supporting its function is quite simple yet highly important to your health and wellness. Physical movement, adequate hydration, a healthy diet and rest go a long way to support healthy function. Keeping 'energy in motion' is invaluable to lightening your load and encouraging movement through the system.

A Lymphatic Therapy Session can be booked as a separate session. You will fill out a short health questionnaire if this is your first appointment with Charlotte. You will be asked to remove your clothing and lie on the therapy table covered completely with a sheet. By way of discreet sheet and towel positioning and using the Veltheim Method of Lymphatic Drainage (VMLD), your spleen, abdominal areas, head, neck and breast areas will be gently massaged to move interstitial fluid through tissues and into the Lymphatic System. This will also have a direct positive effect on your Immune System as both systems are intimately associated with each other.
